The South African Social Security Agency said it has been receiving grievances about declined R350 #coronavirus grant applications which did not meet approval requirements.
For one to qualify for the COVID-19 grant, a person must be either unemployed without any kind of income, or not receiving any kind of government assistance, such as unemployment insurance or money under the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, the agency clarified.
They must also not be recipients of any social grants or any other financial support, and must be above the age of 18.
According to the agency, 3.2 million applicants have been approved, and 1.2 million have been paid already. [Photo: AFP]
