The State Administration of traditional Chinese Medicine and the Ministry of Health of Tanzania successfully held a video exchange meeting on traditional medicine treatment COVID-19. At the exchange meeting, the two sides introduced the basic situation of China and Tanzania using traditional medicine to treat COVID-19, focusing on COVID-19 s diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine, selection of Chinese herbal medicine and clinical treatment measures. Zhu Haidong, deputy director of the State Administration of traditional Chinese Medicine, said that traditional Chinese medicine and therapy have played an important role in the successful treatment of thousands of patients in Chinas response to the COVID-19 epidemic. The friendship between China and Tanzania has a long history, and China will do its utmost to provide suggestions on traditional medicine and fight the epidemic, and will continue to deepen the cooperation and exchanges between China and Tanzania in the field of traditional medicine. The director of the Ministry of Health of Tanzania said that he thanked China for unreservedly sharing with Tanzania its valuable experience in treating COVID-19 with traditional Chinese medicine, which is of great significance for Tanzania to use and develop local traditional medicine. It is hoped that in the future, China will continue to carry out relevant cooperation in the field of traditional medicine, especially in capacity-building, technical cooperation, and pharmaceutical industrialization. Counsellor Yuan Lin said that traditional Chinese medicine is the treasure of the Chinese nation and plays a unique role in disease prevention and control. The development and use of traditional medicine has also been highly valued by President Ma Gufu of Tanzania. The meeting provided a rare opportunity for China and Tanzania to deeply exchange the relevant experience of COVID-19 in traditional medicine treatment and to carry out cooperation between China and Tanzania in traditional medicine. The embassy in Tanzania will continue to support and assist in building cooperation in traditional medicine into a new bright spot in health cooperation between China and Tanzania.
